What's the deal with Lorcana?

We are getting 24 boxes out of the 108 we originally asked for. We want to make sure we actually run the game and grow a local community and player base for it. We will be taking wishlists for booster boxes and other product in-store, but it's unlikely we will have booster boxes for sale until a small restock sometime September.

Sometime September? Can't you be more specific?

That is the exact question I asked, but no one yet has an exact timeline and I don't want to misquote any of our distribution partners.

So what's the best way to get packs?

For the release date of this Friday, we will be holding a 16 player sealed release event.

For the first 4 Saturdays the product is released we will be running 16 player sealed tournaments. Each player will get 6 booster packs from which they will build a 40-card deck using any number of different inks (rather than only two inks). More than 4 copies of a card with the same name are allowed to be played in sealed.

At the convention, we will be running our 16 player event.

24 boxes of 24 packs is 576 packs. 6 tournaments of 16 people is 576 packs. So the best way locally to get packs will be with us on Saturday.

I don't want to play, can I buy your entire September restock wave?

No. We will try to get players as much product as we can. We will be focusing on players who have played in at-least 1 local sealed event. They are going to need cards to build their 60 card decks when we switch formats to Core Constructed, but we will endeavor to get product for as many customers as possible. If for some reason we don't sell out a sealed event we will start allocating that product back to customer wishlists.

When can I sign up for events?

Tomorrow on our website we will go live with a  few 16 player event that players can purchase 1 ticket for. We will refund anyone who purchases more than 1 event ticket online. If you have a family or friends you are purchasing for, please contact me at james@gameskingstore.com.

Timeline of events:

We will also be allowing playtesting for Core Constructed any day but Wednesdays. We will be sanctioning Casual Core Constructed Sundays at 12pm. Those events will be free.

We are partnering with a local comic book store, Star Fighter Comics, in-town to run an invite only Core Constructed tournament Saturday night at the convention. To be invited you will need to place in the top-two places in either of our locals and not already have won an invite. Our goal is to have a 16 person tournament where each player will take home a Disney Lorcana Pin just for participating.

Reach out to their store for exact times, but at the time of this writing their events are Core Constructed and Saturday evening at 5pm. Our goal is for players to be able to play in both events on Saturdays leading up to the convention.
